SWMC - Appraisal Ordering Process

Important Notification

Dear Valued Partner,

On Sep 18, 2009, HUD released new requirements (Mortgagee Letter 2009-28) on ordering FHA appraisals. For all Case Numbers assigned on or after 02/15/2010, the following requirements will apply:

Mortgage Brokers and Commission-based Lender Staff are prohibited from ordering Appraisals
Lenders must ensure the accuracy of the Appraiser identified with the loan in FHA Connection
Lenders must comply with fee restrictions when using Appraisal Management Companies

Sun West has implemented the above Mortgagee Letter and streamlined the process while ensuring proper compliance.

Now, you may order appraisals directly through one of our approved Appraisal Management Companies listed below.

Alternatively, you may order appraisals through SunSoft Online. To simplify the Appraisal Ordering process for you, Sun West Mortgage Company (“SWMC”) has updated SunSoft Online (www.reversesoftonline.com).

To request appraisal online on SunSoft with a click of a button, go to Vendor Order link in top right hand area of the screen after creating the loan.

The Vendor Order screen provides you the ability to request for Appraisal, Title, and Escrow through SWMC. In the Appraisal section, you may specify an Appraisal Management Company of your choice. If not specified, SWMC will select one for you.

Click the appropriate Request button for the desired service.

Once requested, the system will confirm the request received date.

SWMC’s processing department will then contact you for credit card authorization. You can come back to this screen to check the status for the Ordered and Received Dates.

Note: You may order the FHA Case numbers without identifying the appraiser. Once the case is transferred to SWMC, SWMC will assign the appraiser.

If you would like to recommend an Appraisal Management Company, please e-mail the request along with the name, address, and phone number to your Account Executive.
